Such nice boys

Feeling much better today so we decided to investigate the tree at the back
of Carloss aunts house. Vero was armed and began hacking away at everything!
It took us a lot longer than expected to find the path and after 20 mins of
de ticking we headed to the field. After 3 hours and no sign of a toucan we
headed to the house. I did a bit of a girlie moment after discovering a tick
on the inside of my ear and then the thunder and lightening started. 6 Hours
later it had stopped so we donned waterproofs and headed back to the field.
20mins later one just appeared one minute not there and the next there. The
other one appeared from a completly new direction and not the usual way at
all. One was about half way up the tree and the other in the usual look out
spot. Trying to get them facing the same way to compare beak size was easier
said than done. Eventually getting a decent shot ( photowise me & a catapult
would be very very bad) of both of them at the same sort of angle and zoom
rate there was no difference in size. So we had 2 males hanging round
together which would explain why we couldnt establish a pattern of behaviour
for them. At which point one flew over us and the other went bathing in
another tree. I felt quite pleased with myself for solving that mystery!! 30
mins later and it started raining again so we went to see C&S only to
discover half of their advacado trees had come down in the storm earlier.
Also the phone lines were down so no internet so no reconfirming flight
plans etc. The storm carried on well into the early hours almost reflecting
my mood of panicking a lot..
