We started back down, which was worse than getting up there. The rain had stopped but we now had streams of water and what was nice soil was now mud. Without a doubt Silvyia had been right when she said down was worse. I wont use the exact words going through my head but you can use your own imagination as to the sort of words being used.
True to form I was also managing to fall over my own feet twice landing flat on my ass which isnt as well padded as it was at the start of this. Its strange give me a gymnastic beam bare foot and no problem with balance increase the surface area in the form of boots shoes and heels and it goes wrong my balance vanishes.So with arms out and a lot of oohh wooohh waaayyy aarrrggghhhssss I perfected the art of mud skating. if you timed it right and didnt hit a branch or stone I probably got further that way than walking there was even a couple of crossovers with one leg going over the other (mainly to keep balance and not fall over) and even at one point a half turn and a bit of going backwards. My parents taught me to rollerskate from a young age and it brought back a lot of memorys of that.
However Vero executed a very nice crossover half turn one leg lift with another crossover and another half turn Artisitic impression 8 technical merit 9.0 ( V hard manoever and didnt fall over) We also had big trees that had fallen over so Carlos hacked away with his machete and got us a new route whilst doing a bit of skating aswell. 4 hours later and Silvyia was making coffee. I had mud everywhere and about an inch thick! We trudged to the cabin got into dry clothes and went back for lunch and a shower. Clean dry and tired we sat chatting. Silvyia had to go into school to monitor an exam some of the kids had to take. She didnt actually say told you so but was so pleased I d done it and was convinced a week of acclimatising was the answer! She also said they were taking Carlos s family back to Jujuy so would be gone the next 2 days so we could move into the bottom house so there was no worry of no water etc. We get a fridge and a tv and Hot water!! Small bonus to a generally naff day!!
