Kittens,Druts back and Rio
Well today was going to be expedition day except that Natti and her husband have been delayed so today they are collecting equipment and tommorow the volunteers and then here. So the expedition is now the 28th. Im determined to give it my best shot at getting up there but also know there is 2 major things that could stop me. 1) the weather if it stops cool then great but if its normal weather for here I may well overheat again! 2) My knees. all the walking we have been doing on a level or even hilly bits have been fine ok they have ached and swollen up which is part of the norm. However having them constantly under my chin on this climb isnt going to be good. Strapping them up may well make things worse later on but it may come to that. Having said that I guess thats why having an assistant has its benefits!!. We will see I know I can only do my best and being a stubborn mare and having a fair share of determination ( some of my worst and best points!) being part of my character I will try and will be severly miffed if I dont at least get as far as I did last time.. but dont want to cripple myself either!
We have also gained 4 new arrivals, Drut2s friend a black moggy gave birth last night so needless to say Drut and his friends are back with us in the cabin. After a not very productive day of Toucan watching this morning, this afternoon I spent sorting out reference numbers and flight numbers etc to reconfirm flights etc It was only then that I realised my flight home was the 18th not 17th. I leave Sorocaba zoo on the 16th so I now have 48hours to do something with.. Rio is 6 hours away.. my flight isnt till 23.45... Rie the xmas prezzie may well go to use on Cocoabanana yet!! ( and no Im not telling!)
