It was a night out they would remember for a very very ...

Xmas Eve
Well its been a birrova odd day today. I think its the only ever xmas eve where I havent been racing round town getting just in case and last minute prezzies. instead today I have been sat in a field watching Toucan behaviour. Which was interesting but long and drawn out today, the birds werent playing the game. Another odd thing is the Argentinans have their xmas dinner tonight, no turkey just BBQ. We are currently waiting for water in the cabin and I have Drut2 sat on my back. Before starting to write this I was that bored I was translating the Mozzie spray. Theres the usual highly flammable and dont breathe it in and then`no pulverizar cerca de llamas`I had to translate it and it is basically I think dont spray near Llamas! Presumably cats ,dogs, cows horses and people are ok. Just dont spray the llamas. I couldnt help but wonder what would happen if you did do they have a genetic link with mozzies?
Well we gave up on waiting for water and headed to C&S house for a shower. After investigating and finding at least another 15 bites I also discovered 3 ticks feeding off me. The ONLY advantage of South American ticks is when you have the blighters and apply pressure they instantly take the head out and wave all their legs about in a ok ok you got me kind of way. And then you squish them ( que evil laugh). De ticked witch hazelled and clean we headed to the bbq at the house in the citrus orchard where Carlos s family were staying.
Roco was also staying there who is a sausage dog aged 6 months old. He thinks he can take anything on and was barking and growling at this bull who in turn just turned and looked at him snorted at him and walked off whilst Roco trotted back looking all pleased with himself at `seeing it off`; There was quite a spread laid out whilst the pig and chickens were bbqing away in the back garden in what I can only describe as a kiln.
And then the storm came... lots of lightening, thunder and then the rain. We started on the starters which was traditional argentinan dishes. The best way to describe them is if you can imagine a swiss roll but with tuna, tomatoes, onion and a vegetable version instead of cream or jam that was the starters. Accompanying them was rosemary chicken, potatoes and mayo bread of varying different sorts and sprite! really yum though. And then the electricity went...
An hour and a half later noone really wanted to go out and check the pig and chickens but it was decided someone had to and Vero and I were to go back to C&S house as there was no way we would make it to the cabin. So we sloshed, squealched and slid our way back, found some candles and went to bed.
