You Know when you´ve been tango d
After my shopping trip I thankfully had brought a hair clip thingy (something else that had gone missing) so with a twist and pin up do for the
evening I went down to the reception and got on the minibus after getting on
the minibus and getting a few smirks off the other women I sat down, it was
during the drive to the show that I realised the other women were also in
various stages of hair drying!
We arrived at the club and got ushered in and sat in various places. The
best way to describe the club is if you can imagine a small theatre with a
upstairs and downstairs but instead of there being rows of seats
horizontally theres tables and chairs vertically. These tables probably seat
around 60 70 people and all of you infront of a stage area. Its a set menu
with about 6 choices for each course. For the last 16 years I havent eaten
red meat not because I work with animals and think its cruel or anything I
just went off it.. and Tea.. Although a lot of places in South America do
offer vegetarians an option its usually a very small one, its a very meat
orientated country and a lot of pride is in the reputation of their leather
and beef and steaks. So whilst I couldnt eat it everyday like they do out
here there has been times when I have been trying the dishes. Empanadas I
like and the beef is very nice although I wished it could have been in a
roast at the time! At the show though I ordered Pork and I have to say I
didnt really enjoy it. Another big favoruite here is cheese and Ham ask for
a cheese toastie and it comes with Ham on the flights hot cheese and ham
rolls! I dont think I will go back to it though.
You get rushed quite a bit with the ordering and eating, the kitchen must be
a madhouse so when it came to desserts I couldnt actually remember what I
had ordered. It looked nice when it arrived and was in heaven at the first
mouthful! It was quite a novelty to think that I hadnt really given the lack
of chocolate in my life a second thought so Id forgotten how nice it can be!
(laura I hope you are sat down whilst reading this about the idea of no
chocolate!!)
All through the meal is a film on the history of Tango then you get dragged
off to have your photo taken with the dancers. Which I did and then got very
confused because I caught the tail end of one of the segments of film which
was on about Al Johnson. Now I wouldnt automatically have put the two
together so if anyone knows answers on a postcard to....
The show was really good with a small orchestra and a troop of dancers that
wowed the audience with traditional. contempary tango aswell as a few
comical sketches that were very well done. There were a couple of moments
that had me concerned the one girl got flung acvross the stage and I did
wonder if she was actually going to stop or fall off it and there was a
singing in the rain type dance where the girl had sopping wet hair which
sprayed off everywhere when she spun round but it was the bloke I felt sorry
for getting constantly whipped by wet hair. Maybe he liked it who knows!
So we all got back on the minibus and headed back to our various hotels. One
bloke manged to get on the wrong minibus but for once not me ha!
