Shes got a ticket to ride!!
Well after the panic of losing a whole 24hours somewhere I finally got the
emails saying yes your flights have been reconfirmed (PHEW) but that also
means less time to do all the things I was going to do the day after
tommorow. So I met Ramone last night for the first time who came back with a
group of 25 people yesterday. Last night was the childrens choir at the camp
which was fabulous, unfortunatly the pictures didnt turn out so well because
there were a lot of candles and I couldnt quite get the settings right so
theres all sorts of wierd and wonderfull laser type beams from the candles
and all sorts of smokey spooky shapes!
Last night I stayed at the guides hut and had a fantastic shower with hot
water and slept with a pillow ( I hadnt realised how much I missed my
pillows till last night!) then walked to camp at 5.45am this morning. And
guess what?! No not a Toco in sight BUT the woofy beastie was back.. With
only half a cup of lukewarm coffee in my system I think I said "for gods
sake " at it and waved my hat at it!( Because that would have really helped
if it had gone for me!) AND AND the most coolest thing of all was I got to
see Coati 3 of them in fact 2 big ones and one slightly smaller the sight
made me chuckle because it looked like a school run of "come on dear you
dont want to be late" and the smaller one at the back going "I dont want to
go" they were halfway across the path before noticing me and then suddenly
legged it before I had chance to get the camera out.
So today has once again been spent cleaning camp and catching restraining
and bagging the sleeping bag (sitting on it is the best technique Ive found
to date) and trying to make everything fit back into the rucksack. Then I
went on my first proper outing with rucksack and felt like a proper
traveller as we walked to the Lodge. I called at the Capi area for one last
time (33.2) and then wearily headed to Lodge. I have a talk to do again
tonight (last one for a bit though!) and Im betting 5 of the 25 have been
to the castle.
I've enjoyed my time here at Yacutinga but feel ready to move on now I shall
miss everyone here. Greg with his bloomin "we all live in a yellow
submarine" song and his taxi fares. Corinho singinging Toucan woman at me
everytime, Gabriella for her friendship, Gisella for her continued patience
for letting me steal the computer, Marcello just for being Marcello and
Claudia for her time patience and friendship and for all of them for making
me so welcome and teaching me so much. Considering the first and last time I
did any camping was on a school trip aged about 8 ( mum will email me giving
me exact dates Im sure because she always remebers things like that!!) I
dont think Ive done too badly considering. I have had a range of comments
from people all good. So onto the next chapter...
