VW will be pleased
Had a bit of a down day today, frustrated at how difficult project is turning out, missing people and the fridge still isn't working. It's developed it's own aroma and I won't be short of penicillin which appeared overnight. (Kim I wont need a fridge reminder for 17.30 Friday!!). And still no shopping.
Hey Ho I went down to the Capi area again (34.2 degrees this morning) then headed to the lodge. I finally got GPS to do its stuff even that was a bit confused. It kept asking 'Have we moved 100s of miles since last use?' So even though I entered yes and tried telling it that we had moved 1000's not just 100's it wouldn't believe me so I turned it off. Today though it accepted that we were no longer in Kent or even England (now I sound like Dorothy) and it happily plotted the route from the station to the Capi area and to the Lodge. It's now taking me far less time to walk the route, the capi route isn't much of a shortcut. Its a shame BRMB's walkathon is in May its good training! ( BRMB is Invictas sister radio station in Brum for the Kent lot).
Im probably walking 13 plus miles a day (over 10,000 steps anyway) I dont know that walking to work from town is quite an option just yet ( You will still have to give the car back Penny!). It wouldnt be as scenic thats for sure.
I went out with the guides on the Chico Mendez trail where they have a typical Guarani (said Waranee) house and one of the tribe show how they used to trap and hunt animals. Then we did the Timbo trail where the oldest tree in the area is. Over 55 feet high and over 500 years old and then to the Capi area. I heard aricaris but no Tocos. I then had another talk to do after dinner. There was an Australian couple who had just come from Antartica and were telling me aboput sharing a beach with 50,000 penguins. Then a couple from the Netherlands and a UK couple. Now this is the 2nd time Ive done this talk to a total of 11 tourists and 6 of them have been to the castle! The Australian couple and the UK couple live in Maidstone. They have promised to come and see me when I am back at work. They were really sweet the lady gave me a big hug and kiss ,some english tea bags and a fridge magnet with a dove and peace on it??!!. I hadnt the heart to tell her I dont drink tea although I am quite getting into Mate ( said Maitai) Kinda like green tea but you can have it hot or cold and its a social thing. Got a lift back with Corinho and Gisella I thought I had got away without Taxi fares but Greg is claiming comission for sending out a reputable taxi firm. Plus Corinho is on about getting me a tshirt with Toucanwoman on it. Told you there would be an outfit!
