Rucksacks back!!
Well at 2pm today I got reunited with my rucksack. We are 4 hours behind you by the way I sat hugging it for 5 minutes. But the bow is missing Im sorry to say.
Well today we were up by 7am ish had breakfast and went off and away learning the trails and where Claudia thinks will be best for me to study. So today I have seen Capybara, a Capuchin monkey,Tegu lizards a deer and a TOUCAN!! a Chesnut eared Aracari not a Toco but it's a Toucan.
I have also found good feeding spots for the Toucans that have been seen by the guides in the area so I have pictures of seeds and flowers and of a Toucan but still no poo, but it is only my first day in the field. I've been bitten 3 times so far but now rucksack is here I can treat it and take the antibiotics and everything! Today has been a good day and I can't wait to get in the shower and change my socks and.. and I won't go into too much more detail but I'm happy today.
So I have a bird tour at 5am tommorow where hopefully we will see more Toucans and I wont get bitten because I now have anti bitey stuff and my hat!
I also have pictures of a wild Toucans nest which used to be a woodpeckers but the Toucans have made it bigger and taken it over. I have to say in comparison to captive birds it's really triangular but maybe South American wild Toucans have bigger bottoms!!
